Kate Breakey

凯特·布里基
 

凯特·布里基 以她的大画幅手工上色摄影作品在国际上享誉盛名。自1980年,她已举办了超过65场个人作品展,并参与到美国、英国、澳大利亚、日本、新西兰和法国50多场联展中。

 

作为地道的南澳大利亚人, 1988年布里基移居到美国得克萨斯的奥斯丁。1991年,她获得了得克萨斯州立大学美术硕士学位,并在之后的7年留校教授摄影艺术和摄影艺术历史。1999年,她移居亚利桑纳州的图森。布里基与许多公共收藏机构工作都有合作,其中包括位于首都堪培拉的澳大利亚国家美术馆、图森的创意摄影中心、圣迭戈的摄影艺术展览馆、得克萨斯州的奥斯丁美术馆、休斯敦美术馆和威特里夫西南部及墨西哥摄影艺术展,这些展馆收藏了超过150幅布里基自1999年开始所创作的摄影作品。

 

2004年,她获得休斯敦中心颁发的“年度摄影师”奖。

 

2001年,得克萨斯州立大学发表了布里基 的第一篇专论, 其中包含了她正在创作的“小生命的逝去”系列中的81幅彩色照片,著名艺术评论家A.D. 柯曼亲自为此作序。她的第二本书,“花/鸟” (东方图书)已于20033月出版。她的第三本作品集也即将在2009年出版发行。
